The enemy is developing a new air defense system according to intel from the late General Bolotnikov. Although attacking anti-air weapons with planes appears dangerous, the testing grounds are quite deep in enemy territory, meaning getting there on land would take too much time so the only way is by air. All Elements of Delta Squadron are dispatched to take out the enemy's new air defense weapons, which turn out to be tornado generators, as well as the testing grounds.
A simpler mission than it seems. To destroy the Type-T2: Sickles, you have to fly over the clouds and then dive into the turbulence the Sickles are creating to enter the tornado downwards and destroy the Sickle below. When the Sickle is destroyed, the tornado it was creating will disappear, making it safe to pull up. Do that to avoid crashing into the ground. After the three Sickles are destroyed, you then have to destroy the observation base in the center of the battlefield. The base has several bullet-firing enemies guarding it so you have to be careful while destroying the targets in it. Rocket pods or bombs can really help to destroy the enemies in the base. The mission is completed once all targets are destroyed.

The reward for this mission is 60,000 credits plus a variable amount depending on the number of enemies taken out and the type of weapon used to take them out. The player can go on to Phase 5 with the missions Iceberg, Doll Master, and Priority unlocked. If Lone Wolf was completed in a previous game and John Rundal's game completion medal is earned, the player can unlock Far Behind by playing Twister with either Ken Thomas or Ruth Valentine.
