The Sukhoi T-58VD (NATO reporting name of "Flagon-B") was a modified prototype of the original T-58, it in itself a prototype for the Sukhoi Su-15 (NATO reporting name of "Flagon"). The T-58VD was a scarcely produced prototype, incorporating three Kolesov lifter jets, in order to give the craft STOL capabilities. However, no models of the Su-15 would ever incorporate STOL capabilities. This aircraft only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, where it is the starter plane of Alex Levine.
Design[]
The T-58VD heavily resembles the Su-15; very long profile with a pronounced nose, somewhat short delta wings, twin engine, and a single vertical stabilizer. However, when the craft enters V/TOL mode, the lifter jets in the center of the craft open up.
Performance[]
For starter plane standards, you can do a lot worse than this. However, this aircraft does have flaws. Firstly, stats aren't amazing, though not bad. All stats except for speed are somewhat below average. Again, not terrible, but it will be replaced eventually. It IS, however, Alex's only plane to get LR-AAMs; and LR-AAMs are very mighty indeed! However, it also lacks a vulcan, a major flaw that several other of Alex's V/TOLs possess. It's not bad, just kinda... Meh.
