This page refers to the Flanker model. If you're looking for the forward-swept test plane named "S-37" in the games, see Su-47 Berkut.
"Add thrust vectoring to the Su-35 and you get a plane that maneuvers even better at low speeds and excels in dogfights."
Harry's description of this plane in the shop.

The Su-37 (NATO reporting name of Flanker-F, often nicknamed Terminator) is a fighter that appears in the original Airforce Delta, and Airforce Delta Strike. It was given the moniker "Flanker" in Airforce Delta, but lacks one in Airforce Delta Strike. The Su-37 is an experimental advancement of the Su-35 "Flanker E", given thrust vectoring. It is used by Donald Chan, and can be used by Rick Campbell.

Design (All games)[]

Like other Flankers, the Su-37 very heavily resembles its family members. It most closely resembles the Su-35 "Flanker E", having front canards, but it also possesses thrust-vectoring jet engines.

Performance[]

Airforce Delta[]

In the original Airforce Delta, it's an above average plane with decent stats. Strangely, you will unlock this plane before you unlock the Su-27B, as the latter is tied to game completion. Compared to the Su-27B, the Su-37 has significantly worse speed, and slightly worse power and defense. However, it possesses improved mobility.

Airforce Delta Strike[]

In Airforce Delta Strike, it's a very high-tier plane for Rick Campbell. It is unlocked by progressing to Phase 5 and costs 450,000 credits. It is also used by Donald Chan in operation code T8. It is one of the best normal air-to-air combat planes in the game, having maximum mobility and near-maximum thrust, possessing high speed, and decent defenses. It is armed with arguably the best special special weapon for air-combat, the LR-AAM.

Airforce Delta Strike[]

  • Donald uses an Su-37 in operation code T8. Although he is a target, he is not required; he will flee the battlefield after a certain number of ships are destroyed. He can also use it in some stand-by missions up until Phase 10.

Trivia[]

  • This is one of the only aircraft in the series to appear in the first game, be removed for the second, and then make a re-appearance in the third.
  • The tip of the Su-37's vertical stabilizers are sloped slightly downwards instead of being completely horizontal like in real-life.
  • This is the only non-Chinese plane that Donald Chan pilots.
  • Discounting the Type-R2: Vamps encountered in the space missions, Donald in this aircraft offers the highest monetary reward among all aces in normal aircraft (67 thousand credits for a missile kill, 135 thousand credits for a gun kill, and 202 thousand for a rocket kill). This is higher than even Albert Ungar in his Su-47 (66 thousand with missiles, 132 thousand with vulcans, and 198 thousand with rockets).
