- "After years of trial and error, TsAGI (Russia's Central Aero-hydrodynamics Institute) finally succeeded in developing this long-distance air superiority fighter based on the form of its existing next-generation fighter. The beauty of its appearance is matched only by its aerodynamic performance and heavy weapons capabilities. Its unparalleled prowess in dogfights has spurred the development of many derivative models."
- "Nothing maneuvers like this Flanker at low velocity, giving this plane the edge in dogfights. It's a steal at this price."
The Su-27SMK (NATO reporting name of Flanker B) is possibly meant to be the Su-27SKM, an updated version with improvements like an advanced cockpit, mid-flight refueling, and improved ECM. This plane was known as the Su-27B Flanker in Airforce Delta and simply the Su-27 Flanker in Airforce Delta Storm. As they are basically all the same plane, we will make just one page here. In Airforce Delta Strike, this aircraft is used by the Merv Flying Corps and can be used by John Rundal.
Design (All Games)[]
What needs to be said about this plane? The design is very iconic; Large wings, straight-standing vertical stabilizers, large rear nozzles, and that little pod in between the engines. If you know aircraft, you probably know the Flanker.
Performance[]
Airforce Delta[]
A fairly ho-hum craft, unlocked after beating the game. Compared to the Su-37, it has higher speed, power, and defense, but worse mobility. It's not horrible, but it's... Pretty mediocre over all. And the fact it's a game-completion unlock is just salt in the wound.
Airforce Delta Storm[]
A decent craft, though somewhat hamstrung by how late in the game it's unlocked. Stats are above average in many regards, but... It's very likely you'll have better at this point. Still, it's pretty cheap at this point in the game, so hey.
Airforce Delta Strike[]
A fairly decent plane for John. This craft is armed with the mighty LR-AAM, arguably the best anti-air weapon in your arsenal. It's got decent stats all around, but like most of John's planes, it's very frail. Compared to the F-15C Eagle, it has better thrust and has the LR-AAM as opposed to the HM-AAM, but slightly worse speed.

Trivia[]
- Despite the name change it received in Airforce Delta Strike, the Su-27SMK still visually resembled the older Su-27SK, this is made evident by its IRST module being located in the center front of the cockpit, where as the Su-27SKM's IRST module is located off to the right side in order to make room for the additional aerial refueling probe.
