The Poly is a Konami Legacy plane that only appears in Airforce Delta Strike. It was originally featured as player 1's craft in Konami's obscure Japan-only 1997 arcade shoot 'em up Tobe! Polystars.
Design[]
The Poly is... erm... i-interesting, to say the least. It is a somewhat large... propeller-bound... Whale... with a weird block person seemingly controlling it. The whale is solid blue with a white underbelly and white eyes (from which it shoots machine guns...) and its belly opens up to fire its weapons. It has a single large push-propeller on the rear end, which has a yellow center. The block person is seemingly the cockpit (judging by the atrocious cockpit view) and it has a large, blinking red light on its head. The block person constantly waves its small arms back and forth while in flight.
Performance[]
This is arguably one of the weaker Konami Legacy planes in this game. Although it possesses decent mobility and defense, it's fairly slow compared to most other KL planes and it has internal bomb bays which, as always, make rapid fire very awkward. Its special weapon functions identically to Multi-Lock Air-to-Air Missiles and is therefore inaccurate and poor in a lot of air-to-air fighting situations. Overall, a subpar Konami Legacy plane.
Not to mention, trying to fly with cockpit view is... interesting...

Trivia[]
- This is the last usable plane listed in the game's aircraft list.
- The music that plays whenever this plane is used is the same as the MX5000 and the Axelay.
- Although this plane is unlocked for free, this plane's price would technically be 780,000 credits due to how repair prices for planes are calculated (50% of the plane's cost to purchase, hundred-digit numbers rounded up).
- Despite being a propeller plane, the thrust sound for planes with afterburners when maximum thrust is applied can be heard whilst using this plane, oddly.
