"If it's a prop plane you want, this one's a masterpiece. Look no further. You won't find a better one out there."
Harry's description of this plane in the shop.

The North American Aviation P-51 Mustang is one of the most well known prop planes in the world; designed in 1940, although initially instructed to build Curtiss P-40 fighters, NAA instead developed a brand new fighter. The results speak for themselves. The P-51D was the definitive version. This aircraft lasted all the way until the 1980s; it is still a popular craft for air racing. This aircraft only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, where it is usable by Jamie Jones.

Design

A fairly standard prop plane. The wings are more angular in shape than those commonly seen on other craft; though aside from that, design details are relatively similar to other planes. Single vertical stabilizer punctuated with two rear wings, the works.

Performance

Despite its incredible pedigree, this is, in fact, the worst propeller plane in Strike. Yes. Somehow, both the P-38L Lightning and even the damn Spitfire Mk24 are better than this thing. This aircraft has the worst stats overall among the propeller planes, being strictly inferior to the Spitfire and definitely inferior to the P-38L. A baffling downgrade to one of the most famous prop planes in history.
