The Lockheed Corporation P-38L Lightning is an American propeller plane. It is most well known for having a very successful in the Pacific Theater of Operations and the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations in World War II. It, like all other propeller planes, only appears in Airforce Delta Strike. It is Jamie Jones' starter plane.
Design
The P-38 had a radical design for its time, having a twin-engined setup as opposed to most propeller fighters at the time, which generally stuck with one. To further add to the uniqueness, it has a distinct twin boom rear end, with a central nacelle containing the cockpit and armaments.
Performance
Being a propeller plane, the P-38L is rather slow and frail. However, it seems to be slightly faster than most other propeller planes and it handles quite well. Like all propeller planes, the P-38L has 120 rockets and 50 unguided bombs as its special weapon. It is the second most durable propeller plane in the game, falling behind the Il-2M3 Shturmovik.
