The Shenyang J-11 (NATO reporting name of "Flanker-L") is an aircraft that only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, as a game-completion unlock for Ruth Valentine.
Origin (Real-Life)[]
The Shenyang J-11 is a Chinese variation of the Sukhoi Su-27. Originally proposed as a variation of the MiG-19 Farmer that was cancelled, it was revived in the 1990s as a modification of the Su-27. The aircraft has had a bevy of controversy surrounding it, including allegations of later versions of the craft being "unlicensed", along with other issues.
Design[]
On the outset, the J-11 is essentially a Chinese version of the Su-27SK, there are very few differences in airframe design between the J-11 and the original Flanker. The design is nigh-identical in the games.
Performance[]
It's literally just John's Su-27SMK with some slight stat alterations. The J-11 has improved thrust compared to the Su-27SMK, but marginally worse defenses. It's... Practically the same plane. The only difference is this thing is tied to game completion. It's arguably one of the best game-completion unlocks in the game, and that's kind of sad. Not bad, not bad...
