The Fort Base is the thirteenth mission in the original Airforce Delta. It involves attacking a base set up at a castle.
Briefing[]
We have a request for assistance from the army.
A medieval castle in the mountain regions has been fortified into a virtually impregnable base, and they can't even get near it.
Your mission is to infiltrate the castle fortress.Infiltrate... with a jet... riiiiight...
This would normally fall under the Army's jurisdiction, but the site must have significant ground defenses for them to come crawling to us.
A thorough ground defense means a high level of air defenses.
The Army will owe us one if we pull this off.
Let's retire the castle ourselves.
Walkthrough[]
Another simple air-ground op, with only a single target plane (The MiG-29). The only ground enemies here are a whole load of Gun Pods. This is, in short, a really simple mission. Gun pods do really low amounts of damage, so the only major threat comes from the surprisingly tough planes in this level.
There are also blimps. They do nothing. They're basically just sitting ducks for you to blow out of the sky.
A breather for what's to come later on...

Trivia[]
- The premise of this level is very similar to the premise of Tin Castle from Ace Combat 2.
- In the manual, the mission location is instead given the name "Mt. Corydallos", a simple spelling difference with the same basic pronunciation.
