- "Designed specifically to fly at low altitudes at subsonic speeds for bombing runs, get this or the A-6 for naval engagements."
The Blackburn Buccaneer is an aircraft that only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, where it is usable by Brian Douglas.
Origin (Real-Life)[]
The Blackburn Buccaneer was a British carrier-capable attack aircraft designed in the 1950s for the British Royal Navy. The aircraft was initially designed in response to the Soviet Union's Sverdiov-class cruiser; this aircraft was designed so the BRN could avoid having to build an entirely new fleet in response to the threat; they could just use the Buccaneer to bomb the ships with impunity. The aircraft was designed to fly below an enemy ship's radar horizon, attack, and escape in less than a minute. It was officially retired in 1994, after an impressive 32 year lifespan. The S.2D model (Erroneously referred to as S2D in-game) was an updated model, designed to carry the Martel anti-ship missile.
Design[]
The Buccaneer is an interesting craft; it's a particularly large aircraft with a big nose, two large air intakes attached visibly to the jet engines on the back, and has two large wings. It has a single vertical stabilizer, with two rear wings located near the top of the stabilizer.
Performance[]
Ehhh... This plane has trouble standing out. Despite being the model designed around an anti ship missile, this aircraft does not get ASMs; instead, it gets Unguided Bombs. And a very few amount of those, to further add salt to the wound. What's more is, it lacks a machine gun. The stats aren't atrocious on this thing, but you're really better off sticking with other planes. There are plenty of better options aside from this.

Trivia[]
- Out of all aircraft with the Unguided Bomb special weapon, this is the only aircraft to have a reduced ammo count, only having 20 bombs as opposed to the 50 other aircraft have.
