"This next-generation stealth fighter is the result of overambitious engineering. Who am I to argue?"
Harry's description of this plane in the shop.

The PAC JF-17 Thunder (or the CAC FC-1 "Xiaolong", literally Fierce Dragon) is a Chinese multi-role combat aircraft joint-developed by PAC and CAC. It appears in Airforce Delta Storm and Airforce Delta Strike. It's used by both John Rundal and Donald Chan.

Design (All games)

This plane has a design somewhat similar to the F-16, looking like a cross between that plane and the MiG-23ML "Flogger G". In Airforce Delta Storm, the PAL version has a slightly altered appearance.

Airforce Delta Storm

A basic, below-average early game plane. You unlock it after completing an early mission, so it can see some use before you unlock the likes of the F-15S/MTD Active. Otherwise, don't bother if you have better.

Airforce Delta Strike

Again, a below average plane. Stats are meh all around, and it has a weak special weapon. It lacks vulcans as well, which hurts its dogfighting capabilities. Although it has decent anti-ground stats, its somewhat mediocre defense makes it less favorable compared to the MiG-33 "Fulcrum".

  • Donald Chan uses this plane in Up Stream. Although he is a target, if he is not shot down within a certain amount of time (Once the elevator enters attack altitude), he will flee the battlefield. He can also use it in some stand-by missions up until Phase 10, after Tiger's Cave.

  • When Donald uses this plane, he can attack with vulcans, despite the plane lacking them. This is mostly due to lazy programming.
  • In real life, the JF-17 is equipped with a 20mm cannon, angled downward in the nose.
  • This plane has a different appearance in the PAL version of AFD Storm, a trait it shares with planes like the Lavi and Su-30MKI.
