Airforce Delta Wikia

"This delta winged carrier fighter held all sorts of records as an interceptor, but only in the right hands. Care to try?"
Harry's description of this plane in the shop.

The Douglas Aircraft F4D-1 Skyray is an aircraft that only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, being usable by Brian Douglas.

Origin (Real-Life)[]

The Douglas Aircraft F4D-1 Skyray was an American carrier-capable fighter/interceptor developed in the 1950s. Although it had a limited service life and no combat sorties, it had several hallmarks. Most notably, it was the first aircraft to have the world's absolute speed record (at 753 miles per hour, rounded up). It was also the last fighter developed by Douglas Aircraft before they merged with McDonnell Aircraft (Discounting the aircraft's successor, the F5D-1 Skylancer).

Design[]

The F4D-1 is an interesting craft; it has a fairly modern design for the time, having wide, rounded wings. It has a single vertical stabilizer, and a single engine. The aircraft is quite small.

Performance[]

Absolute garbage. Do not bother with this thing. If you want to use a rocket plane, there are better options in Brian's arsenal. EVERY SINGLE ONE of this aircraft's stats are awful, and this thing is billed as a fighter! With rockets! Don't waste your money. It's cheap as hell, but boy, you sure get what you buy! And what you buy is a bad aircraft with terrible stats, a mediocre special weapon, and all around just a waste of time.
