"The price on this fighter attacker is high, but you really get what you pay for. It truly is a superb multi-role aircraft."
Harry's description of this plane in the shop.

The General Dynamics F-111, lacking a designation but often nicknamed Aardvark, is an American attacker developed in the 1960s, and used in service all the way up until the 1990s. The F-111F was the latest version of the craft produced for the US Tactical Air Command, using a modern (at the time) avionics system that was also less expensive. It was produced in the 1970s. It would receive many variations, such as an electronic warfare version, the EF-111a Raven. Technology from this craft would help the development of the F-14 Tomcat. This aircraft only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, where it is usable by Rick Campbell.

Design

The F-111F is a very large aircraft. It possesses variable sweep wings and a twin-engine design, punctuated by a single vertical stabilizer. It also possesses two noticeably large rear wings as well.

Performance

A fairly decent attacker for Rick. This plane, statistic-wise, is best compared with the TSR2; both are attackers that lack vulcans which possess very similar stats. Compared to the TSR2, the F-111F has better mobility and defenses, and possesses a far superior special weapon in the form of the Large Guided Bomb. The LGB is useful because it exploits a loophole in the game; bombs grant a x3 cash bonus, even if they are guided. As a result, you basically have a lock on weapon that gives you lots of money to use. It does have fewer bombs than the TSR2, however. The TSR2 also has better thrust than this plane. Still, this plane is arguably the superior choice compared to the former.

It can also be compared to the MiG-27K "Flogger J". Compared to that, the F-111F has, again, a better special weapon, defenses, speed, and thrust. However, the MiG-27 has the same mobility, only slightly worse defenses, and vulcans, which can help give it an edge in any potential air encounters. Overall, this plane is very above average, and fairly interesting for just an attacker.
