"Perfect the high-speed F-102 interceptor and you get this topnotch fighter at high altitudes. Well, what do you think?"
Harry's description of this plane in the shop.

The Convair F-106A Delta Dart, originally given the designation "F-102B", was the final dedicated interceptor to be used by the U.S. Air Force. Designed in the late 1950s to be the "Ultimate Interceptor", this craft flew from the 1960s all the way to the 1980s, wherein it was finally retired. Later, starting in 1986, 194 surviving units were converted into QF-106 target drones, used for the Pacer Six Program. The last of these drones were destroyed in 1998. This aircraft only appears in Airforce Delta Strike, where it is usable by John Rundal.

As to be expected, the F-106A heavily resembles its predecessor; needle-like fuselage, a delta-wing configuration, single engine with a single vertical stabilizer. The design differences of the craft include a different engine and stabilizer design, and a modified intake placement.

It's mediocre. It lacks vulcans, and its special weapon only has one shot. You'll probably destroy a fair few ground targets with that one shot, but WAMDRs aren't very good otherwise. That one group of targets you destroyed could have easily been several with any other anti ground special weapon. Aside from that, the stats are relatively mediocre. And again, the lack of vulcans is a sore spot. You can only unlock this craft via a minor secret mission, on top of that. It IS relatively cheap, though.
