Briefing (when mission is played for the first time)[]

Robert: [smiles] All right, everyone. Make yourselves comfortable. Lilia, can you give us the sit rep?

Lilia: Yes, well...things don't look so good. Without the Chiron Lift, our space fleet's been left out in the cold. Right now, there's only one way to join up with them. We have to use the heavy lift vehicles to launch ourselves into orbit from the Uranometria base.

Jamie: But don't you think the enemy might notice what we're up to?

Lilia: Of course they would. They're not stupid. They'll probably send special ops to Uranometria. That's why I'm giving you my own orders. The Delta Squadron will head to the Uranometria base. 1st and 3rd Elements, provide cover until the final HVL[sic] lifts off, and then dock on it. That's it.

Alex: In other words, we fight to the very end, then fly away on the last train.

Lilia: Something like that. The enemy's going to attack, so we need cover, but no one else has the manpower. So it's up to us.

John: [smiles] I'm okay with it. I'm gonna miss planet earth, though. I want to do a little hunting before I go.

Holst: [smiles] Well, good luck. My element isn't cut out for this kind of job. I'll let you handle them.

Jamie: [delightfully] You can count on us, all right. Okay, you guys! Let's go!

Lilia: Oh, one more thing. No propeller planes.

Jamie: [frowns] What?!

Lilia: It's only natural. How do you expect to fly through space with one? And you wouldn't be able to get close enough to the HLV to dock. Trade it in for a jet. And that's an order.

Rick: [angry] But he hasn't completed his crossover training yet!

(when playing this mission as Jamie for the first time)

Lilia: [angry] Time for some on-the-job training instead. I've asked Harry to get a jet fighter ready. You can either fly that or be left behind with the ground troops. It's your choice.

(if Jamie already attained his jet or play New Game Plus)

Lilia: [angry] Time for some on-the-job training instead. You've got at least one jet, right? Either fly that or stay behind with the ground troops. It's your choice.

Rick: Unbelievable...!

Jamie: What a stupid question. My mind's made up. I decided to be part of this team, and I'll follow it--even into space. Let me give that jet a try.

Lilia: [calms down and smiles] Okay, go do the trade-in. It's time to move out. This'll double as a training mission for Pops here, so don't be too gung-ho.

Jamie: [delightfully] Hey, I can master a simple propless in five seconds flat!

Robert: 1st and 3rd Elements, we're counting on you to cover that HLV. And be careful docking. You be careful, too, Jamie.

Jamie: No sweat!

[briefing ends]

Briefing (when mission is played a second time, this time in a new game plus)[]

Robert: [smiles] All right, everyone. Make yourselves comfortable. Lilia, can you give us the sit rep?

Mission[]

Amelia: Nomad to all units. The Starlight is in the last stages of preparing for launch. All units guard the area until further orders.

Starlight Pilot: Open the gate!

Starlight Copilot: Gate open, roger! This is Starlight. We are commencing final sequence now.

Amelia: Nomad, copy. Starlight, please come in under self-mode.

Starlight Pilot: Self-mode? How come?

Amelia: We have a slow unit that cannot keep up in linear-mode.

Starlight Pilot: Starlight, roger. Commencing sequence in self-mode.

Control: Control to Starlight. Switching your subchannel bypass from W to A.

Starlight Copilot: Starlight, roger. Switching subchannel.

Starlight Pilot: Starlight now entering acceleration sequence. Release the brake.

Starlight Copilot: Brake release confirmed.

Leon: I've really to thank you for getting rid of those fools! You have my deepest gratitude. Thanks to you, I'm a commander! If I could just take you--and that monster--down... Why, my future'd be a sure thing! (if shot down) Me, go down? But how? My eject device--it's not working! B-but... I don't wanna die! [dies]

Starlight Copilot: Self-Mode, initial check.

Starlight Pilot: Self-Mode, check.

Starlight Pilot: Thrust boosters, check.

Starlight Copilot: Thrust boosters... normal.

Starlight Pilot: Stabilizing boosters, check.

Starlight Copilot: Stabilizing boosters... normal.

Starlight Pilot: Thrust boosters on.

Starlight Copilot: Thrust boosters... 1 and 2 stabilized.

Starlight Pilot: Vehicle status, check.

Starlight Copilot: Vehicle status... all clear.

Starlight Pilot: Engine output, check.

Starlight Copilot: Engine output... stabilized.

R-Mite 5: Crab 5 here. Analysis complete. We can get in on the subchannel bypass. Use the CC Unit's Module 2.

R-Mite 1: Crab 1, roger that. Target verified. Now entering capture sequence.

R-Mite 5: All units man your posts! Don't blow your timing!

R-Mite 1: Roger.

Starlight Copilot: Sir! There's something on the radar, in front of us!

Starlight Pilot: Look into it! Whoa! What the hell is this?

Starlight Copilot: A crab? Here?

Starlight Pilot: Hurry, do something!

Starlight Copilot: It's no use--we have no weapons!

R-Mite 2: Crab 2 now in sequence. Moving into Phase 2. Crab 2, attached successfully. Module 2 also in place.

R-Mite 3: Crab 3 here. I'm gonna go grab 'em! Crab 3. No problem here. Module 2's okay, too.

[after at least two crabs have latched onto the Starlight, the following five lines are said]

R-Mite 5: Connection verified. Begin upload.

Starlight Copilot: Sir! The subchannel response is way down!

Starlight Pilot: What can that mean? Check it out!

Starlight Copilot: Huh? We've been hacked... via the subchannel?!

Starlight Pilot: What?!

R-Mite 4: Oops! Crab 4, coming in a little late!

R-Mite 2: (if his R-Mite has not been destroyed by the time R-Mite 4 latches onto the Starlight) What have you been up to? Hurry up and latch on!

R-Mite 4: (if R-Mite 2's crab has not been destroyed by the time R-Mite 4 latches onto the Starlight) Yeah, yeah, roger. I'll clamp on after we start moving. (regardless of whether R-Mite 2's crab has been destroyed or not by this point, R-Mite 4 will say the following line) Hey, make me some room! Crab 4, Module 2 installed just fine!

Starlight Pilot: Cut the subchannel!

Starlight Copilot: I can't! We might not be able to fly safely if we do! Damn!

R-Mite 5: Program loaded. Now loading attack unit.

Starlight Pilot: Do we have a defense program on board?

Starlight Copilot: The defense program is too big... But I think... maybe an anti-cracking module... Here we go!

Starlight Pilot: Great! Will that help?

Starlight Copilot: With current transmission levels, yes, But not much more.

Starlight Pilot: Just like what Nomad heard. Get 'em out of here now!

R-Mite 5: The attack unit should be loaded soon.

[if the player does not destroy the crabs clinging to the Starlight within a certain amount of time, the mission will fail and the following three lines will be said]

R-Mite 5: System hacking successful!

Starlight Copilot: O-our system's been taken over! I can't control it! The Starlight has been halted...

Starlight Pilot: Have we... lost?

[after all crabs have been destroyed, the mission is completed and the following three lines will be said]

Starlight Copilot: Enemy, radar out. We are approaching Catapult 2.

Control: Roger.

R-Mite Leader: Crab Leader to all units. Respond! Respond! Argh! I'll get my revenge for this!

[mission ends]

Post-Mission Cutscene (Broken Wings)[]

[shows Jamie flying in his jet]

Jamie: Hmph. That takes care of that, I guess.

Control: This is control. Starlight, come in!

[shows an overhead view of the Uranometria base, and then the Starlight stopping at Catapult 2]

Starlight Pilot: This is Starlight.

Control: Catapult Launch 2 clear. You are go for take-off.

Starlight Pilot: Roger. Prepare for take-off.

Starlight Copilot: Anchors secure.

Starlight Pilot: Engines to full throttle. [shows Jamie flying over the Starlight as it powers up its engines] We need to pick a rendezvous point. [shows the R-Mite Leader's HUD and then his R-Mite as it lands on the track in front of the Starlight, blocking its path]

Starlight Copilot: Bandits dead ahead!

Starlight Pilot: What?! Dammit!

Jamie: Still some left?! Not for long! [tries firing a missile and then rockets at the R-Mite, but none of them work] Hmph! All bent outta shape! [swoops in towards the R-Mite]

Starlight Pilot: We can't stop the launch now! [the R-Mite fires machine guns at Jamie's plane as he approaches it and he screams]

Starlight Copilot: Output critical! [Jamie screams even louder and longer as he slams his jet into the R-Mite, destroying it and clearing the Starlight's path, but killing himself in the process]

Amelia: What?! What's going on?!

Starlight Pilot: Anchors away! Take-off! [the Starlight launches and the post-mission cutscene ends with it flying upwards into the screen]

Game Over Screen[]

Lilia: A tale moves the stage to the universe after this. Captain Jones, please sleep well and now. The rest is left to us and received. Since we make war finish absolutely and it shows!

[exits Game Over screen after finishing Lilia's monologue]
