The Bomber Intercept mission archetype appears in Airforce Delta Storm. It involves pursuing escaping United Forces bombers on the map screen, and once they are intercepted, engaging and shooting them down along with a fighter jet. There are four of these bomber intercept missions in the game.

Overall Description[]

These missions are really not that hard. You just have to shoot down three bombers and one of two fighter jets in each of them.

After shooting down the bombers and the target fighter jet, you unlock a plane for free.

Walkthrough[]

As mentioned above, these missions are rather easy. There are three bombers you must shoot down as well as a fighter jet. The bombers will escape the mission area if you don't shoot them down within enough time. It is recommended to shoot down the target fighter jet first and then the bombers because the radar only shows one target aircraft at a time (the fighter jet in this case) and the radar will show where the bombers are after taking out the fighter, making it easier to find them.

When it comes to actually pursuing the bomber group on the map, it is highly recommended to have a plane with a high range. Lower ranged planes will have trouble catching up to the bomber group, constantly having to stop to do Intercept missions along the way. A good strategy is to merely camp around your own territory; Generally, the bomber group will wander about the map, and will eventually arrive in your side of the map, letting you go straight to them to engage.

Mission Objectives[]

  • Shoot down all targets before they escape.

Mission Dialogue[]

NOTE: This applies to all four missions; There is no difference in dialogue between any of them.

Briefing[]

Our early-warning sensor net has been activated. There appears to be a United Forces bomber group. There is a strong possibility they are planning on bombing our bases. You are being dispatched immediately to intercept the bomber group and destroy it. Over and out.

Mission Map[]

Delta Leader: (When mission is selected on the map) We've detected an enemy bomber squadron in a strategic area. We are now heading over to intercept them. Don't let even one get away. Over and out.

Mission[]

Delta 2?: Prevent bomber escape. (When the bombers get close to exiting the mission zone) The enemy bombers are getting away! (When the bombers exit the mission zone) Bomber escape successful!

[mission fails if bombers escape]

[mission is completed once all targets are shot down]
