"Stampede Campaign" Armed Fighting Walker is a mission for the 2nd Element of Delta Squadron in Airforce Delta Strike.

Overview[]

After the previous mission had a somewhat less-than-stellar success, the Armed Fighting Walker (AFW) is forced to move through hostile territory. 2nd Element is called to escort the AFW from both land cruisers and bombers. Giuseppe Ferretti also appears, making a last stand whilst piloting an Il-2M3 Shturmovik. After defeating the threats to the AFW, he must be shot down to end the mission (a fairly simple task). After being shot down, Giuseppe notes he cannot bail out, and is subsequently the first O.C.C. ace to perish.

Walkthrough[]

A fairly frantic mission. It's best to use a high-tier attacker with ASMs. Holst's Tornado GR1 or F-16XL can do nicely for this level. The targets, the Type-A8: Doggies, are fast moving tanks that can fire missiles at both you and the AFW. However, they aren't actually that good at dealing damage to the AFW. Still, it's best to take them out quickly.

The actual threat to the AFW are the Tu-160s, which appear about midway through the mission. It is best to prioritize these over the Doggies, as these can actually damage the AFW.

Once the AFW reaches a certain point, both the Doggies and the Tu-160s turn neutral and no longer attack the AFW. Afterwards, Giuseppe must be eliminated, if he hasn't been already.
