Airforce Delta Strike is the third and latest home console installment in the Airforce Delta series. It was developed and published by Konami and released on PlayStation 2 in 2004.
Story[]
The game plot occurs in a not specified time, but has futuristic, sci-fi weapons, planes and environments. When O.C.C. (Orbital Citizen Community), a space colony set on Earth's orbit, starts to attack the Earth to control it, E.D.A.F. (Earth Defense Alliance Force) launches a defensive campaign. After some time, E.D.A.F. sees itself almost with no forces to fight and decides to enlist any militia forces to help, including the bad-famed Delta Squadron. After that, the tide starts to turn and as the Earth forces advance, they find out that O.C.C. is not the major threat - an organization from Mars is planning to destroy Earth with the help of the orbital colony.
It is possible that E.D.A.F. is the same alliance that was born in the previous Airforce Delta series' title, Airforce Delta Storm (Xbox, 2001), so the story must happen after the year 20X7, when the Xbox version is situated.

Trivia[]
- This is the only game in the series to have a T rating, as opposed to an E rating, by the ESRB.
- It is also the only game in the series that was never ported to a handheld game console.
- It is the first Airforce Delta installment not to feature any French or Swedish aircraft. It is likely that SAAB and Dassault Aviation licensing deals with Namco (which appeared in Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, released nine months later after) prevented them from appearing in Strike.
- It is the first Airforce Delta game to feature cockpit views.
- It is the only game in the series to feature AI-controlled allies that appear in gameplay.
- A maximum of six Delta pilots appear in missions where all Delta pilots are available to choose from. 3rd Element usually appears in such missions and 1st Element appears alongside them if 3rd Element is being played as. If 2nd Element is being played as, 3rd Element will appear alongside them. In some missions, two characters from one Element, one from another, and all three from the third appear.
- During the campaign, all Delta pilots will use the last plane used by the player, excepting the ?????? aircraft. In this case, that character will use their first plane from the hangar.
- AI-controlled allies cannot shoot down O.C.C. aces which are marked as targets (colored orange instead of green) with missiles, but they can shoot them down with bullets.
- The Konami Code can be used in the game to destroy the aircrafts, or alternatively used to restore HPs and missiles (only 1 time by mission).
